A really simple story about high
school that we can meet in anyone’s life. However, Puttipong Pormsaka
Na-Sakonnakorn Wasin Pokpong , the director and also the writer can reveal the
fact that high school never be that simple. The story wants to tell us about the
power of love. A love is like backsword. It can change someone to be better,
but it can also hurt persons deeply in their heart.
The first scene shows the future
when P’Shone with a baby. I think it’s a good opening to make us curious “who
is that baby? ” And also there’s a line from Nam, “Every one of us has someone who
is hidden in the bottom of our heart. And when we think of that person, we feel
like there's always a little pain inside.
But we still want to keep that person. Even though I don't know where he is
today, what he is doing, I know that he is the one who taught me this. A crazy
little thing called LOVE.” It’s a really honest words from a girl who
falling in love
which makes me understand how much her love to P’Shone.
The
ending is predictable, and the plot is also not so special. But, I must say
that I don’t realize that P’Shone loved Nam from the start when she was still
ugly. Thanks again to the director. He only focuses about Nam’s feeling and
hide Shone’s feeling until the moment P’Shone opened his diary, which tells us
about his true feeling towards Nam.
Some
scene maybe too irrational and excessive, like when P’Shone jumped from the top of tree and give Nam a
mango. I think it’s to make the story more cheerfull and not so depressing.
Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul ( as a Khun Nam ) can take a role as a plain and
expressive girl really good. She also can make us laugh and cry at the same
time. Everything in '9
recipes of love' looked irrational, so it’s a little weird to saw Nam really
did all of the things written in there, but I think it’s to tell how hard she tried
to capture Shone’s heart. The most silly thing is that she tried everything,
but she forgot the most important thing, to confessed her true feeling to
Shone.
Mario
Maurer as P-shone, has a handsome face and oozing charism
make a really perfect role as a lead character who can make every girl fall in
love with him. In this story, he can show gentleness and kindness. He also a
real badass when it related to someone he really loved. But the truth, he is
also really shy to express his feeling to someone he loved. He is also really funny, and plain like a
little child. I think that complicated nature which make him really cute.
Nam’s friend. Their act is so
natural that make me sad when they sad, and make me smile when they have fun
together. Although they are only side characters, they give a big impact to the
story. They always supported Nam either in her love story or her life. They
tell us about a true friendship through their simple act in this movie. Maybe
their dialogs seem not important and don’t take the plot forward, but it is the
friendship in our life, it makes us warmth in the inside.
The soundtrack is really good, and
heart-warming too, especially ‘Someday’ which played when Shone opened the
diary. The song is about the real feeling of Shone, everything that he wanted
to say to Nam, but he couldn’t. Every scene have their own soundtrack, sad
scene, happy scene, and also a funny scene, which increases the feeling of that
moment.
Overall, A Crazy Little Thing Called
Love is a really excellent Romantic Comedy movie, especially for a high
schooler. The characterizations are really strong. There are a lot of humor, but I also
get the feeling. One thing that I hate
is about an instability that Nam and Shone’s had. If they directly confessed
their feeling toward each other, they would be together early.
Plot : B + , Character : B , Soundtrack: B+
Overall : B
